Challenge
Our client JYSK SE (formerly Danish Bed Store) planned a complete renewal of its WLAN infrastructure across four logistics centers (3 in Germany, 1 in Spain). The goal was a smooth migration from the old to the new WLAN and to establish centralized management.
Implementation
First, we gathered requirements at all sites, conducted workshops with all stakeholders, and measured the existing WLAN infrastructure. A redesign to the new Wi-Fi 6 standard followed, reusing as many existing installation points as possible. After customer approval, the system was configured, installed, and commissioned. A post-installation survey verified and documented the realized WLAN. A Service Level Agreement ensures long-term reliable operation.
Task
The main task was to create a robust concept for all four locations. This included the individual office and logistics infrastructures, as well as outdoor APs for camera surveillance via Mesh. Other applications considered were the web-based ERP system, Office applications, and Pick-by-Voice order picking. Implementation followed the approved concept.
Technology
The AP310i-WR with integrated antennas and 2×2 MIMO from Extreme Networks was used as the most cost-effective model meeting logistics and office requirements. For outdoor areas, the AP360 model was deployed. In total, around 500 access points were integrated, supporting up to 1,500 clients. Each logistics center uses two redundant NX7500 controllers, while a VX9000 instance provides centralized management across all sites.
