Industrial 5G

Wireless.Consulting: We develop 5G solutions

Industrial 5G is currently one of the most discussed technologies in industry. A 100 MHz frequency spectrum between 3.7 and 3.8 GHz was not auctioned but is available for local licensing. There are many ideas for using 5G networks in industry. However, not every application can or may use this licensed frequency band. Traditional services such as phone calls or public internet access are examples. And in some cases, another wireless technology may also be the better solution.

Turning ideas into practical 5G use cases

As specialists in industrial communication and automation, we see great potential in using this licensed frequency spectrum together with existing wireless technologies. Based on your ideas, we create realistic and reliable 5G use cases. These concepts can then be developed into a concrete usage plan as part of the official application process.

For example: exploring the potential of the 5G mobile standard with autonomous monorail vehicles

“5G SIMONE” (secure.mobile.connected with 5G) is a research project from the 5G.NRW funding program. The program supports innovative 5G projects to accelerate digitalization in North Rhine-Westphalia. One focus is the networking of autonomous transport systems such as the MonoCab.

These innovative monorail vehicles are designed to operate on unused railway tracks and make public transport more attractive again. The vehicles are battery-powered and operate automatically, with the long-term goal of fully autonomous driving. Such transport systems could significantly improve efficiency, speed, and reliability in modern mobility.

And the development of 5G products and services for Industry 4.0

The research project 5G4Automation is also part of the 5G.NRW funding program. The program promotes innovative 5G projects that help accelerate digital transformation in North Rhine-Westphalia. One of these projects is 5G4Automation.

The goal of this project is to research and test how 5G technology can be used in industrial automation processes within Industry 4.0. Smart connectivity between machines is becoming an increasingly important factor for competitiveness in modern industry.
