Wi-Fi Survey:
The foundation for a stable connection
No one would ever think of designing a complex building without an architect. Professional planning is just as important when installing a new Wi-Fi network. This is the only way to ensure that the Wi-Fi connection is built on a solid foundation. This is especially true in industrial settings, where requirements are particularly high. One of the first and most important steps in this process is Wi-Fi coverage planning.

The “architectural aspect” of a Wi-Fi installation is Wi-Fi coverage. Your “architects” are our Wi-Fi experts at WirelessConsulting.

Wi-Fi Survey
If you’re having issues with your existing network, our experts can help you with our specialized Wi-Fi analysis!
Wi-Fi survey is the foundation of a functioning Wi-Fi network

Fundamentally, efficient work in a wireless environment is only possible if the network is reliably highly available. To successfully implement a Wi-Fi network that meets all individual requirements, the on-site conditions must be carefully assessed.
Wi-Fi Site Survey
The Wi-Fi site survey provides the data necessary to install a consistently stable wireless connection in your premises. We carefully examine structural and building conditions. In addition to your specific requirements, we identify all factors that could negatively affect Wi-Fi performance, such as redundancies, capacity, attenuation, penetration, interference, building structures, and existing frequency usage.
The Individual Phases of Wi-Fi Site Survey
Requirement Gathering for Your Wi-Fi
We Lay the Foundation for Your Highly Available Wi-Fi
The most important step in planning a Wi-Fi infrastructure takes place before the site survey. First, the expected functions are defined. We determine how many Wi-Fi clients, using which applications and data rates, will be present, where, and how quickly they will move within your network. This assessment considers both capacity and the roaming behavior of the Wi-Fi clients.
Our Services in This Phase
- Conducting our Wi-Fi check
- Reviewing floor plans
- Gathering requirements
- Defining Wi-Fi parameters for signal, SNR, transmit power, installation options, antenna types, and device categories
This approach establishes a professional foundation for the proper design and planning of your Wi-Fi infrastructure.
Wi-Fi Infrastructure Simulation
We Plan Theoretically for Practical Implementation
The foundational plans for every highly available Wi-Fi network are developed at the desk. Before visiting your site, we simulate the ideal scenario in theory. This involves studying building plans, mapping structures, and defining details. Materials and components are determined, using either the devices you specify or those best suited for your Wi-Fi connection, independent of manufacturer.
Our Services in This Phase
- Integration and calibration of building plans
- Mapping the building structure and specifying materials
- Defining attenuation zones and coverage areas
- Simulation showing predefined parameters for range, throughput, redundancies, and channel planning
Our simulation always includes frequency planning and is based on your detailed building plans.
Partial On-Site Radio Field Measurement
We Validate Our Planning On Site
The results from the simulation in Phase 2 serve as a reference for on-site verification. Specifically, we check the simulated coverage in your building by placing a specially configured access point according to the simulation. This allows us to measure the actual signal propagation, including all sources of interference in your environment. By doing so, we verify assumed values, identify disturbances, and determine the optimal installation locations for all access points to ensure the best possible connectivity.
Our Services in This Phase
- Reference measurements per building to verify simulation results
- Site inspection of installation locations and assessment of local conditions
- Measurement protocol “Radio Field Survey” according to approved frequency bands
- Measurement protocol “Spectrum Analysis” for potential interference sources
We use reference access points in the 2.4 GHz and/or 5 GHz bands.
Wireless Network Planning Based on Measured Data
We Create the Final Plan for Your Wi-Fi
The results from theoretical and practical planning are combined into a concrete blueprint for your Wi-Fi deployment. This includes a bill of materials listing required hardware such as access points, antennas, splitters, antenna cables, and power supplies, as well as installation instructions for each location.
Our Services in This Phase
- Evaluation of measurement results and adjustment of channel planning
- Preparation of measurement protocols including photo documentation of all installation points
- Specific installation instructions according to on-site conditions
- Creation of the bill of materials for all components to be installed
For every Wi-Fi site survey, we provide a detailed documentation package, which is handed over to you after the final measurements.

Wi-Fi Analysis – The Solution for Issues in Existing Networks
If your current Wi-Fi environment is not performing smoothly, it may be due to faulty or suboptimal installations. External interference can also impact your wireless connection.
Wi-Fi Fault Analysis
Our technicians assist with specialized Wi-Fi fault analysis, including spectrum analysis, effectively making the air visible. Poor connections can stem from various sources – within the Wi-Fi itself, in the LAN, in authentication, or from incorrect prioritization. When needed, we expand the analysis to your entire network for a thorough examination. IP packet analysis and the expert assessment of our technicians ensure comprehensive diagnostics.
